This year is drawing to a close. I am writing some blogs about my work and my life in 2012.

2012/9/21: The teacher told us some tips about the translation when I had English interpretation class in 2005.

“If you find it difficult to translate a sentence, why not translate it in another way? It is OK as long as they have the same meaning. For example:我什么也看不见，most people would say: I can not see anything. In fact, I saw nothing is more appropriate. Example again:代我问好，give my best regards to somebody, of course, the foreigners used to say like that: say hello to somebody,” said the teacher.

It was the time when Beijing was applying for 2008 Olympics. In class, the teacher asked us how to say 吉祥物 和 跨栏. Oh, my god! We all looked at each other quietly at that time. Then the teacher told us the right answers which I never forget.

In a word, reading the latest newspapers will help improve your language skill as well. If you speak English like an American at any time, I would say: congratulations!
