The Importance of Reading Classics

899 views. 2010-6-5 12:37 |Individual Classification:Diaries

There is no doubt that we can benefit a lot from reading classics . For one thing , it can broaden our horizon . For another , we can learn lessons from the ups and downs though history . Besides , reading classics is a good way to appreciate our cultural achievements , which will enhance our aesthetic taste .  All in all , it plays an important role in the healthy growth of the youth .

Nowadays , there are few people who are willing to  read classics due to the fast development of media . Some of the classics are made into TV series or films , which are more or less changed in the film version  though , some prefer to watch as it is more vivid and easy to understand in a recreational  way .

In my opinion , as a college student , we should read a lot of books to broaden our eyesight , especially by reading the classical novels , so that we can gain more knowledge and make good preparation for the future career .

Books leave us more imagination and understanding of the contents, while the TV series, are not "vivid" at all, on the contrary. The TV series may restrict our imaginations!

I agree with you, I like read the classical novels, I think the original story is more interesting than the TV series/Movie.

I should say those who don't read classics miss something really wonderful. Indeed it is a pity never to experience the world depicted in the classics. The fun of reading them alone is enough to attract one there in spite of oneself.
