Do our characters determine our fate

Hot 2402 views. 2013-10-27 11:30 | determine

Several days ago, I had a talk with my tutor. My tutor is  an experienced person who always want to share his own experience and thoughts with us. He said that he came across several friends in the canteen. His friends are younger than him but they have  a lot of white hair and show very tired faces. My tutor then told that when his friends were in the college, many students thought that they would not do very well in the future. Nowadays, twenty years later, they really don't do very well. Although  they may work very hard and make them very tired, but it has little effect. Then my tutor think that this is why the Emotion Quotient is more important than the Intelligence Quotient. Our characters may determine our EQ. Although we may receive higher education, we change little in our characters. So we all say that the character determine the fate, and it is somewhat reasonable.
I lost myself in thought. Everyone has his own defect. When we determine to do something, we always try to do what our characters want to do and we never realize it. When you are outgoing and like to communicate with others, you may improve your EQ very quickly. On the contrary, you are introvert and you may improve very slowly. Certainly, it can help a lot when you are under the good environment your parents can provide. otherwise, we may need grate bravery to change ourselves with outside force or external pressure.

Honestly, I have to admit nothing is more important than being
''in the right place, at the right time''.

In my city Hong Kong, most of the people achieve success in some field. The chances and opportunities are out there and all you have to do is to find something suitable and do it. That is why, I encourage people to travel and study abroad in order to realize their own position. In USA and Europe, so long as you are decent, you would surely achieve something and live well.

Frankly, if I just cross the border from Hong Kong to China and work there, I would not even achieve 20% of what I achieved. There is no corruption, bribery and Guanxi 关系 is not required. You go to a good child play school, then primary school then onto high school and university smoothly. After graduation, jobs are awaiting you. You would have a lobor or menial job if you don't have food academic education but you still have good income.
So being in the right place make a lot of difference.

However, do not despair, China is now quickly improving and there are more opportunities now because thriving of commerce and industry.

A person's character is largely inborn. Certainly if you are a smooth talker, sociable and knowledgeable, you would have a happier and more colorful life. However, being low key and quiet has it's own advantages too.

In conclusion, we ourselves are not always to blame for failures. All the things affecting us and surrounding us push us into a path which we have not much control. Be confident in finding your own path in life.

born in the right place, at the right time, perhaps it's better.    All right, get to the point, actually most people in China are bounded by their family, finance and etc. we couldn't change the business environment and culture, if we don't play in their rules, we will lost soon.Of course, every Country or city has its own culture and law. so only we know more about the society and make ourselves stronger, it will have the chance to chang the fate. It needs some characteristic  such as intelligent, confiedence, attitude and the EQ said by the auther

Yes, we need to find what we are fit for. You have a good thinking model. But if we admire the work that may not be suitable, should we give up it? Certainly, in China, many people lost themselves and never know what they want from the bottom of the heart, which is very disappointing.

The problem is the chasing of money and wealth and the result that they are blinded towards the real meaning of life.
