After I had been my parents’ single daughter for eight years, an important person came in my life on November 29th. That night, as I could remember, hideous wind howling outside, I sat beside mom watching TV, while Dad worked an extra shift. Gradually I began to doze off; hence I went to bed and soon fell asleep. While I was wandering in a dream, there arouse a voice of my aunt,”Wake up, dear, see, you’ve got a little sister!”Reluctantly I got up, beholding my uncle and aunt hustling in and out. It was curiosity that drew me towards my parents’ bedroom, where I spot a little baby sleeping steadily in mom’s arms----she is my younger sister. The moment I saw her, I fancied her to be a gift from God. I can recall her tiny face, her delicate lips and her rosy cheeks----sweetheart! Eight years older than her, I experienced every detail of her childhood, during which she brought me enormous pleasure and happiness. We are indispensable to each other not only because we are family members, but also because we are friends. Most of the time, we prefer to pour out our secrets to each other rather than reveal them to mom and dad. We trust each other; we understand each other better than parents do; we are soul mates. Far away from home may I be, I frequently call back in order to keep myself informed of her current situation, provide suggestions for her problems as well as to exchange our points of view on some subjects.

Of course there are other people imperative to me. I regard my sister as the most important one without whom my life will decay.
