There is an old couple in the community in which I live. I met them every morning. They are all about 78 years old. The husband looks thin, tidy, like a gentleman. His wife, on the contrary, is much overweight and dresses casually, a complete housewife. However, whenever you see one of them, the other is definitely around, like a shadow.

One day, I overheard something about them. Then I know the old man is suffering from Alzheimer’s and heart disease and sometimes he doesn’t know how to get back home.  His wife, the old woman, is also in bad health, tortured by serious arthritis. Now her legs are not flexible as normal as their age.

This morning, I saw this old couple was heading toward me from a distance while I was doing exercise on the playground in the community. But at second glance, I was surprised that they disappeared. I felt puzzled so I took a close look. Something terrible happened --the old man fell down lying on the grassland alongside the road.

I ran quickly to them. I saw the old woman held her husband’s head in one hand, and used the other hand to keep his mouth open in case he bit his tongue. She said he fall into cramps, and would return to normal soon. She said the reason that she was always around him was because she didn’t know when the disease strike him. If she did carelessly, she would lose him.

Slowly, the old man came to consciousness.

In the morning sunshine, I felt true love. It is not appearance, achievement, richness and background. It is that there is someone who is and will be with you forever no matter what happens. He or she is part of your life.
