West-East electricity transmission project involves both the east and the west. It optimizes the distribution of resources around China and is a significant solution to the unbalance existing in both resources and economy of china. On one hand, it provides opportunities for the west to convert its advantages of resources into advantages of economic development. On the other hand, it releases the high pressure of electricity consumption in the east. All in all, it benefits both side in the economic development. However, every coin has two sides. During the construction of hydroelectric power stations in the west, the original ecological environment there was changed, consequently causing many environmental problems, such as large scale immigration and the submergence of the large arable lands and so on. TGD is a good example and its influences on the ecological environment have been talked about much in my last blogs.
