According to the changes of water level in the TGD, the project has different effects to the tourism resources in that area. On one hand, it submerged some tourism resources or parts of them, which is a great loss of natural resources. However, it can be made up by some corresponding measures. The underwater resources can be reestablished in new places or be removed somewhere while someone insist that they should be keep under water as they are. All these remedial measures have been taken into consideration during the construction.

On the other hand, the loss of dangerous shoals may not be a bad change. Instead of the rapid current, the scenery of large scale placid lake also attracts many a tourists, which to some extent benefit the tourism industry in TGD area and tourists come here can enjoy a safer trip than before. Additionally, the TGD itself is a tremendous tourism resource, including the high dam, huge ship lock, palace-like buildings for electric generation. Among them, the dam is a good place for water sports while the hills at both sides are appropriate location for vacation villages, nursing homes and hotels.

All in all, the influences of TGD on the local tourism industry are dialectic. We should see it objectively and make the proper decision.
