Xiamen travel

     Last weekend, I have traveled to Xiamen with colleagues in our department.

    The bus has exactly 55 seats, which means we have another 30 friends from different families and companies because we only have 25 colleagues.

   April,19

   A 55-passenger luxury bus was already waiting for us outside of our company around ten a.m. last Friday morning. We got into the bus with our bags and our journeys started right here, right now.

   After more than 8 hours, we finally reached the destination. The first thing we did was to have dinner. The guide prepared eight dishes and one soup for us. Although they were all vegetables, we ate hungrily. The restaurant is on the sea but our dinner is not seafood. We can see the Xiamen Bridge’s night scene trough the window. We walked toward our bus after dinner and we passed the Jimei Middle school whose night scene is very beautiful.

     The guide told me to get up at 6:30 a.m. After breakfast, we were going to start our tour right from here. The first stop was to appreciate tea which is called Dr. tea. “trying before you buy”, but most of us were brainwashed successfully and spent a lot of money to buy tea. Shopping is a necessary part of this trip because we joined a special offer tourist group. We would have three chances to shop like this.

     We had lunch in advance because of the rain. Fortunately, it cleared up sooner and we can go out. We rode bicycle along the seashore. This sport only cost us an hour in order that we would have enough time to play on Gulang island. The tourists in Xiamen are really all about one thing----Gulangyu. There is nothing special or new for me, for I can watch the sea frequently in Shenzhen. As a place of western colonies, Gulangyu is famous for its architectures which were provided to westerners during the colonial past.

     The weather became so cold that we put on our coat. But there were still two or three girls who were not afraid of cold dressed little. The most interesting part of today’s activities was took the table car. There was a little scared and it was very cold because of wind. I was shaky at that time—from fear or from cold, I wasn’t sure. After having lunch, the whole trip was over and we begun to return.

   In a word, I think that travel is experience in foreign land.
