It is easy to be a hero.

Yesterday,i heard of a funny story happened far back in the 1970s.Adults old as me must have a clear memory of the tense relation of former Soviet Union and  China.Heilongjiang province is adjacent to  Soviet Union.the boundary of China and russia measures 4314 kilometres. There are four Chinese Provinces are adjacent to Russia.Among them, the boundary of Heilongjiang Province and Russia measures 3038 kilometres. So,when the relation of former Soviet Union and China became sour,HeiLongjiang Province bacame a prominent frontline of defending the intrusion of Soviet Union.I was bron in a small town in the middle of Heilongjiang Province. When i was a toddler,I could still feel the tension permeated in the air. Tanks rumbled ahead.Soldiers in green army uniforms filed out a armoured car and held military drill in small scale.Militia soldiers were moblized too. They all put aside their farm works and gathered in a classroom to hone their skills of killing enemy. At that time,we all liked playing around them. When they had a brief rest, they would abut their wood guns together and formed several pyramids of guns.Latterly, after i settled down in Harbin,i learned that a big underground shelters had been built in Harbin at that time. From these episodes you can understand how tense the relation of Soviet Union and Russia was. With the time flying,i gradually buried the piece of memory  somewhere in my heart untill yesterday, when a colleague of mine told me a story happened on his good friend.Just in that tense time, his friend was conscripted as a soldier and  was deployed in an extreme outpost position near the boundary. He was just 19 years old and didn't know much about the war. One night,it is his turn to patrol along boundary. It was dark-pitch.and there was no moonlight at all.The sky was teemed with thick clouds. It was  summer and because of no buildings, wind was powerful which would blow him down. The trees waved from side to side. The leaves let out a strange sounds sounded like footsteps. This soldier was nearly scared to death. He felt he was in huge dangeous condition. He closed his eyes and fired. He empties his magazine in a wink.Miracle happened. Two guys raised their hands and walked towards him.The soldier aimed his gun to them and send them back to outpost. After investigation,he knew that these two guys were spys trained by KGB and were sent back China to collect information. They were brewing how to detour the outpost.Just at this time, bullets whistled over their heads. They realized they had been discovered and decide to surrendor to this soldier. You know what, the soldier was rewarded for his meritorous deed and became a hero inadvertently. So,if you want to be a hero, please come to Heilongjiang Province.

It is easy to be a hero,as long as you can keep alive before you become a hero.
