Yesterday, a woman who reported her husband to court reminded me of Li Qingzhao. I have been  admiring her. I think how good if we could come back to the same time of Li Qingzhao by time machine. In that case, I could drop at her and appreciate her excelent lyrics face to face. It is pity that we can’t come back to the past through time tunnel. The only thing left to us is appreciating her works through books, and this is also an agreeable experience. As to those foreign friends, if you can’t make up your minds to learn Chinese. I will tell you that you will feel pity for you can’t have the opportunity to appreciate the lyrics of Li Qingzhao.

Seeing through the period of more than one thousand years and the broad territory of China, LiQingzhao was the most brilliant female poetess. Being called the No.1 gifted female, Li Qingzhao was born in Jinan of Shandong Province in1084 DC. Her pen-name was Yi an ju shi. When she was a child, she was famous for her elephant Memory and quick repsonse. She read a variety of books and could remember them after throwing a glimse on it. She was good at musical instruments, playing Go, painting and engaging in seal cutting. In 1987, an international organization named ringed mountains on Mercury with names of famous persons. Among them, 15 mountains were named after Chinese, and the name of Li Qingzhao, only representitive of Chinese female, was used to mark one mountain. From then on, the name of Li Qingzhao shines in the universe for good.

Maybe for the wars in her time, maybe for the prejudice against female, most of her lyrics disapeared in the river of history and only more than 50 lyrics, 10 poets and 8 articles are left now. Compared with works of other poets, such as Li Bai,Du Fu,Su Shi,Xin Qiji,Li Qing Zhao’s works left are scanty. But just these works of a small number has guaranteed a solide position in the literary arena for Li Qingzhao where has been teemed with great masters.This  proved the high capability of writing and art achievement of Li Qingzhao.It is said that among lyric writers. Su Dongpo and Xinqiji enjoyed the highest status, Li Yu, the last emperor of South Tang Dynasty,and Li Qingzhao were listed second place, as to other poets such as Liu Yong, Zhou Bangyan, Wu Wenying were listed behind Li Qingzhao.

Li Qingzhao was born in an affluent family whose members were all well-educated. Li Qingzhao, in her youth,  was very happy. Her works at this stage tells leisure things such as funny experiences in girl’s room, nature scenes, or girl’s mood. Although she grown up in a big family, she was easy going and possess the same  purity and romance as common girls. She was a shy girl. Just like what she wrote in her early lyric: When realizing some stranger has intruded in yards, I scuttle away with shame and smelles gree plum by the way…….A mischievous,shy girl emerged on the paper. In her another lyric, she depicted the beautiful vista before her eyes lke this: The sheen wather and light green mountain look apealing, how can words express the boundless beauty? From her lyrics, we can see a naive , romantic, grace and pure Li Qingzhao.

When she was 18 years old, this beautiful poetess tied knots with Zhao Mingcheng, a famous gifted man of that time. Two gifted persons, one pair of excellent youths, stepped into the hall of marriage. Their marriage has been covetted by youths of generations. The couple drank tea and dicussed poems in their garden till moon climbed up the sky. Under a lantern, they studied and appreciated art of seal cuttings. It is hard to find the same sweety love like them at that time. In Jian zi Mu Lan Hua, a lyric of Li Qingzhao, she wrote:I am afraid that my husband is doubtingwhether  I am beautiful than flowers.With well-groomed hair, I ask my husband to compare me with those flowers and I must be the winner.A lovely and innocent young lady was depicted vividely. Because of the deep love between them, occasional absence would make Li Qingzhao feel sad and worry about her husband. A thick feeling of missing plagued her mind and couldn’t be  got rid of. She put down her mood like this: Who will share my well-writtern lyric, my tears has washed down the rouge on my face, my dear love is in farway place which is farther than Tianya(the remotest corners of the world). The longing for meeting with her husband was depicted thoroughly.
