Everyday Heros.

Nearly every Chinese knows the scandal of Zhang Ziyi who promised to donate for disvantaged groups but ate her words laterly. This scandal is a real trouble for her for liar is a piece of mud hard to be shook off. Compared with those capricious stars, a lot of common persons do great jobs in helping others. In my eyes, they are real heros, everyday heros.

Two days ago, one colleague of my came to my office and talked about trivial things with me. A story of one of her acquaintance grasped my attention. Her acquaintance was called as Shan Jianqin, who works in Women's Federation of an remote town of Mu Danjiang city. During the past Spring Fesitivial, she visited my colleague's and asked for some old clothes and other unused stuffs. My colleague was rather surprised at her requirement and asked why? It panned out that she wanted to help the poor families in her town. Her plan is providing necessarities  for those families in poverty by collecting them from affluent families. It is really a good idea. Nowadays, with the increase of income, people in large cities buy new clothes time and again. The result of it is: There are bales of almost new clothes stuffed in their wardrobes. These clothes are rubbish in the eyes of rich people but are treasure in the pupils of poor person. My colleague immdiately moblized her family to churn out all their unwanted stuffs and packed them in carboard boxes.

When Shan came and prepared to trot these treasures away, my colleague begun to know two secrect tasks of Mz.Shan.She have never mentioned them in any occassion. First, she has been supporting an orphran of Korea Group. That girl, surnamed Jin, became an orphan at her 10 years old when her parents was claimed in an fatal car crash. Mz.Shan sympathized the poor soul on hearing of the tragedy. After discussed  with her family, she decided to support the girl in all around way. Her meager wage couldn't meet the demand of the huge expenditure of the girl and her family. She have a son and four old persons in her family, so, she tried her best to save every coin to make the ends meet. She bought stationery and new clothes for the girl while her son used old ones. Twelve years past, the girl has graduated from a hygience college. Then came a new problem, because of the furious competition, it was hard for this girl to find a decent job. Mz.Shan visited every people with big influence she knew to seek help. Her good heart touched everyone and the girl was admitted to a hospital and served as a nurse. Is this a miracle? After the girl could support herself by her own salary, Mz.Shan begun her new charitable plan: Helping those elders who were left at home by their children who immigrates to other cities to make money. This is why she asking for unused clothes.

When listening to the chattering of my colleague, I interrupted her: "Does she believe in Buddhism or Christianity? "" No." answered my colleague. But in my mind, she is just a Buddha who can help others, full of drive, and ask for nothing. Compared with her, those dishonest stars are so demean. Her story reminds me of  a maxim of Luxun, a famous writer in last century. It reads: In China, from ancient time till now, there have been persons who keep their noses near to grindstone, persons who struggle ahead without considering their own lives, persons who contribute for the justness of the masses,  persons who sacrificed their lives for seeking truth---, they forms the backbone of China. Yes,as  a country who has sustained its civilization for more than eight thousands years, this backbone played an important role in different history stages. Chairman Mao once said too: People, only people is the master of history. Today, I want to sing for Mz.Shan and tens of thousands of similar common persons who do good things for others. China is changing at a neck-breaking speed, but the spirit herited from our ancenstors is still existing in the minds of grassroots.Let's learn after them while not those dishonest stars.

In the united states a "Grass Hero" is someone who fights for the decriminalization of unjust marijuana laws. If you drop off the roots in grassroots, it changes the meaning because grass is slang for marijuana.

Very nice article though! Great job!

"Everyday Hero" is the only one I can think of. It implies that this hero is a regular, everyday person. They aren't famous, they aren't doing this to gain attention. Giving and caring is just part of who they are in their everyday life.
