Little Hyde Park in my neighborhood

He who learn portions of British history must know a famous royal park--Hyde Park.It is the largest royal park in britian which covers an area of  360 acre. Untill 18 century, it had been deer hunting zone of British King. In 1851, Princess Victoria held London International Exithition here. Now it is a place where people hold all kinds of gatherings. In its north part, there is a famous Speakers' corner. People can feel free to expound their opinions here. It has been a symbol of freedom and democracy.

In fact, there is a small "Hyde Park" in my neighborhood too. In the center of our risident complex, there is a expanse where people doing exercises. I do morning exercises too, but I never talk with those geezers. Their gatherings obviously were affected by grim weather in the past winter. Now, when it is getting wormer and wormer, those people came out of their rooms and the plaza is becoming more prosperous than before. When they finished their exercises, the only thing left for them to do is disccussing. Their topics are quite broad which would beyong your imagination. Today, it is obvious that their focus is shifted to Chengguan, a department of Chinese government to take charge of hawker management on streets.

It turns out that yesterday,  a scale of one of our neighbor, a sunflower seeds hawker, was confiscated yesterday. And an official gave the hawker a phone number and hinted him to connect with him. These geezers are all scolding the Chengguan squad for their bullying  a mediocre harwer. A middle-age man seems obviouly excited. He enumerate the abnormal deeds of those "bad guys". He draw a conclusion at last that the members of Chenguan squad are all snobs for they dare not touch those big guns while are good at bully disadvantage groups. And there are serious penomanon of power rent-seeking. His words are sharp and  agitative. While he is speaking, others show their support by nodding their heads occassionally.

Their topic always change quickly. Yesterday, their topic was related to demostic violence.  One "sage" of them asserted that it was appropariate that 30% families of  a nation exist demostic violence. Of couse, for me, it was an offbeat opinion. But his weird discourse still garnered support of others. Nowadays, in China, people has no other way to expound their opinions, so neighborhoods served as their Hyde Parks. I think during our political reform process, we should pay attention to this phenomanon and encourage people to expound their opinions publicly, or some people would suffer psycological illness if there is no convinient vent for them to expel their emotions.

Our government has enacted rules for domestic violence~~~The phenomenon you have described is just average conversation between people in the same community, and it is no need for us to establish a formal institution for them to vent, also the randomicity is the most obvious feature of conversation
