Is It Necessary to Change The Writing ?

Recently , the Ministry of Education claimed that the writing of 44 Chinese characters had to be changed like the following :
It has caused a storm of arguements . According to a survey , more than 80% of people have an objection to changing the writing . In their opinion , it's very unconvenient for so many people who have gotten used to writing in the usual way .(For example , write "tea" as "茶” instead of the new way) . Besides , it seems totally unnecessary to change the writing now.
I agree with their thoughts . In fact , I also have a strong objection to changing the writing . On the one hand , I have been used to writing in the usual way , too . If the writing change , and just changed a little , it could be difficult for me to change my way of writing . Besides , I don't think the new writing is better at all . Though according to the officials of Ministry of Education , The adjustments have reffered to the calligraphy art , the new writing makes the characters much more ugly !! It's said another reason for adjusting the writing is that new writing will be better at adapting to the digital system . How ridiculous ! As we all know , technological problems can be solved in technological ways but not such way which spoil our culture !!
All in all , as some of the remarks on the Internet , what we want to know is that : Is it the way for the officials to make their fames ?!

- I don't think it is necessary to change the writting. Long long ago people have get used to the writting in use. Bringing in the new writting just causes confusion...

- I don't care what their real purpose is, but i think there is no need to change the writing.
