A Glimps of Generation Gap

738 views. 2009-11-3 16:00

When I was a girl in my high school years, I found thatit was a hot topic of the late 80s young generation. And I Irrevitablely belong to this special group. People discussed a lot about the late 80s because of the new concepts of life from the new generation, which really reminds people of the generation gap to explain something uncomprehending. Several years later, I was told that the late 80s are already not popular any more instead of the lablled the late 90s. It is that moment that I realised a new generation gap comes to again. Unfortunately, it is not only for our late 80s but also most people have communication problem with this indifferent late 90s. So we have to think about this question that why the late 90s appear so indifferent to the society.

To begin with, we should pay attention to the big times environment in which the late 90s were born with. Indeed, the 1990s was a prospective time for country’s development. Because of the implementation of new economic reform and openning policy, the whole country began to run in a regulated railway. Nation got more materials restorements, enterprises worked more products, people earned more money. Children who were born in that age had superior living conditions than any other times before. This naturally implied them a message that they needn’t to strive for anything, because they were born with richful goods. However, people born in the hard times years earlier experienced the struggles and hardships. So it is not ddifficult to realise that the younger generation should have a better understanding of life ang hardships.

Apatr from the reason above, I still think the late 90s have a sreious problem of life-faith. It is a trend for people to hold the variou beliefs when the social economics shows a flourishing golden time. Apparently,we are living a world where the diversity of values, faiths flooding to us like the water from the burst dam. On one hand, the colorful senses of values broaden our human’s insights. On the other hand, it also brings people to an opposite direction that they couldn’t find a clue to build up their own perspectives of faiths. So for the younger gerneration, they were put in the complex atomsphere but without firm beliefs in their own minds. Certainly, the generation gap emerges to the different generations.

To conclude, for the generation gap problem, it is not only mattering to the late 90s. all of us should have a introspection of it. Only when we do a self-questioning, considering it deeply, can we come to a new point on which we will set up a positive attitude towards it.
