Being a student, esp college student, you could skip the courses you hate and disregard the teacher you don’t like. You could do what you want capriciously and not worry about too much about your future so long as you finish your study work and pass the exam, and you hold the childish thought that even if earth stop revolving, your world would be safe and sound, for you can still get the financial support from your loved parents and the help from your respectable teacher who would often be tolerant with your mistakes.

But things become totally different when you left the university and go out into society. The life reveals its true curtain. whether like it or not, you have to obey the social regulations and act as its accordance and no one would ask for your willingness. However, I just state the situation since my graduation last year and don’t want to complain too much about the real world where the life is not as wonderful as it was before, for this is the true life. This recalls me a short story: a little monk was chanting scriptures and beat over the head by his monk master. Painful and wronged, He then asked his master was there anything wrong with him. The old master told him it was right you chant scripture but why you kept your eyes open all the time? Nodding his head, the little monk closed his eyes since then.  After many years, being an eminent master, he understood his old master well. Being a young boy, he could be easily attracted and lured by the variety of outside world and not be able to focus on the scripture and be clear about the inner feelings well. Closing eyes would help him keep peacefulness in mind, which is also the essence for doing spiritual practice.

For a child, the world are all happiness and novelties, since parents would protect him from any danger and resolve the tough difficulty. As an adult, however, you must meet the real world face in face and be forced to support your own life and take the responsibility you should have. Though this is truth , I’ve never thought we are cheated by the life but by our previous fake subjective view of the world. Time flying, it’s natural that you will go through different steps of life. As a well-known Chinese writer ,Lin Yutang who wrote The importance of living said: human life like a poem, it has its own rhyme and beat, its internal cycles of growth and decay.  I think this would be the greatest description of one’s whole life.

Ps: Finally I decide to use this title which may not much accord with the content. Anyway, I like this beautiful metaphor for human’s life so I’d like  to share with you.
