The most important thing is to enjoy your life-to be happy-it's all that matters.
For my life, one of my best friends told me that you always made your life so hard, you are so easy to get tangled in the complicated family things, you are supposed to let it alone. Mayebe she is right, maybe i'm not mature as i imagined, i just have the limited energy to care something i care about. life is not so hard, unless you want it to be. i try to give up something to ease the pressure, make life easier, make me happier.
For my relationship, A few days ago, a boy showed his affection for me and told me that he likes me since we were in the high school,it's already eight years. he said he won't wait any more and planed to come to shanghai. i refused him without hesitation and told him" please don't come to shanghai for me, there is no possible for us to develop the relationship". i think if i don't like him, i should tell him asap and ask him to move on ( i refused him when he expressed his affection). Another boy who has three houses in that city, my roomrate made a joke with me, "if i were you, i will accept him, his parents are govervment officers who have three houses", haha, i will marry someone, not marry with his house. in the modern society, house is really important for us, i don't know how long i can stick to my attitude. i hope that i can be myself forever, not be affected by something else, enjoy my life and be happy.
Sometimes, i think life is so simple, because you have a simple life, enjoy it and happy everyday.
Happy not or, it's up to you.

- Since human beings have seven emotions and six sensory pleasure, it is easy to be influenced by the outside matters. Of course, some people can handle the effect well. I am also easy to be tangled by the daily hassles. But I am making effort to push myself to be a positive person. The attitude we hold can decide the quality of life.

A clear rejection is always better than a fake promise.
You should have told him, there is nothing to fear about being rejected as it is simply a nudge for better direction and choice.
If that is me, I would have told you, ''Thank you, thank you for giving me the chance to find somebody better who loves me.''
Perhaps you yourself is afraid of uncertain relationships, so you may have done the right thing by rejecting him outright.
