This morning, when I logged on DioEnglish, I read a blog. An old user, who hasn’t been here for a while because of the sick, was back here and sadly found people comes and goes in this community. Some new friends joined in and some old friends left or disappeared for a period of time. The sadder part is, she has to stay at the hospital for another six months or even longer. I hope this friend could get back in shape soon.

I watched an old movie named The Object of My Affection (1998). Jennifer Anniston is the lead actress. She plays Nina Borowski, a social worker in a community center. Nina is a heterosexual girl and has a boyfriend. Paul Rudd plays George Hanson, a preliminary school teacher who is a gay. After dumping by his lover, Dr. Jolly, George moves into the cozy apartment of Nina and two of them become roommates and good friends. When Nina finds out she is pregnant, she wants to have the baby but prefers to take care of the baby with George instead of marrying the baby’s father. And the real story and conflict begins.

To tell the truth, I cannot understand and accept the complicated relationship between them. Although, in the end, all of them look like have found their appropriate place to get along with each other. I suppose that’s why New York is so magic, impossible is nothing.

The most impressive line in this movie for me was this: when Vince, Nina’s ex-boyfriend, finally calm down himself and accept the fact that he and Nina are not meant for each other, he says, ‘I still love you, but, that’s my problem, I can deal with that. …… I would just like to thank that I could somehow be part of the picture’.
