XIONG Dun, a 30-year-old girl, died last week in Beijing. XIONG Dun is actually her penname. Because she is interested in Newton, the great physicist, and loves the bear. Not until today, I have no idea who she is and what her life is like. I randomly read her comic works recording her days in the hospital at Tianya community. She has been fighting with the cancer for more than a year. Her perseverance and optimistic attitude encourage many other cancer-suffers and touch hundreds of thousands netizens. Yet, the miracle did not happen. Reluctantly we ended up to lose her.

Her story reminded me another one, YU Juan, the female teacher in Fudan University, was also died in her 30s age. It is a tragedy to their family and their friends, also it is the loss for the society, because both of them are the guys who are full of positive energies and have interacted with the surrounding persons in a good way. Sometimes, when the disaster hits you unexpectedly, all you can and should do is, to fight back with all of your courage, and, if you have time to think about it further, you should better learn a lesson from it and share with your friends.

At the beginning of my work, I often work overtime. As a freshman, you have to do more and learn more, all these take time and extra efforts. I didn’t think I was a workaholic guy for the first couple of years, but in retrospect, I have to admit I was definitely one of them and lived an unbalanced life. I stayed up very late, I eat when I have to not when I should do, I seldom take vacation just for fun, I rarely went to hospital, however, when I had to go there, I could barely walk by myself.

When we are young, or we think we are young, we don’t care too much about ourselves. But the truth is, without a healthy body, we can do nothing. So, my friends, take care of yourself for you, your family and your friends. And hope XIONG Dun and YU Juan lead a happy life in another world with no more pain and sick any longer.
