It is a drama film directed by John Cameron Mitchell in 2010, starring Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart and Dianne Wiest.

Nicole is a pretty woman, that’s for sure. I’m very impressed on her performing in the musical romantic drama film Moulin Rouge (2001). In that film, she is the dream of every man. However, in this one, she is just a grieving mother who lost her 4-year-old son Danny. Without the splendid scene, costumes, jewelries and all the accessories, it is easier for the audience to judge the actress’ performing capability. From my personal perspective of view, I think, Nicole did a great job in Rabbit Hole. I strongly recommend this film to you.

One of my teachers back in college has ever suffered the same grieve-stricken emotion. Rumor said that after the car accident of her teenage son, her husband couldn’t take it and divorced with her. I don’t know whether it is true. However, it is also said she had another child afterwards. I did see her playing with a little kid when I was still in the campus. I hope my teacher had already gotten through the tragedy and begun a new life with her new child.

Recently I’ve watched the Oprah show in Nov of 2010 when she interviewed Rickey Martin, who admitted to the world he is a gay man in Mar of 2010. Being as an entertainer and pop superstar, he is finally be able to face himself and like himself and follow his heart. I’m a straight person, I can’t feel the thing the homosexual guys feel. But I think it is actually an easy understanding thing. A man falls in love with a man, or a woman falls in love with a woman, so what? Not a big deal.

But the ironic part is I believe it is acceptable for most people if it is just a conception and has nothing to do with your life, if it matters to your relatives, your son/daughter, your dad/mom, it is hard to believe and accept.

I’ve heard a story from an older friend, she told me one of her close friends, a beautiful young man, is a gay man. He is very young and very confused about his sexual orientation problem. In the end, he could not take the burden from his parents and the whole society when he came out, so he committed suicide. It has been 7 to 8 years since I heard this story. Today, when I saw the interview, all of sudden I remembered this boy. What a young life passed away…

My dear sister sent a message to me something like ‘when I get something previously I think it is normal but now it isn’t, I feel the great joy’. And another old friend, whose QQ signature is saying ‘The best life is actually we can laugh and talk in the daytime and have a good sleep at night’. Two different description, the same meaning to me – enjoy what you possess and always feel thankful to the world, no matter it is God, love or whatever you believe.
