One cracker question.Who can do me a faver to solve it?

Three people are renting a house for $75. They give $25 each to a fourth person and told him to give it to the owner. Owner told him that the rent have been reduced to $70 and returned him $5. He spent $2 for taxi,and returned the rest $3 to the three persons(each got $1 back) Now the question comes... Lets calculate the total, Cash spent by each person = $25 - $1 = $24 Total cash given is $75 = ($24 x 3) + money spent for taxi = ($24 x 3) + $2 = $72 + $2 = $74 which is not

- I think it's the way of thinking which makes the fact complex.Actually,you may think in this way...Cash spent by each person = $25 - $1 = $24 Total cash spent =($24 x 3)=$72,$70 is spent for rent and $2 is spent for taxi.
