My stressful childhood

My stressful childhood

I was rising at a only-child family with parents. Every thing I wanted always be satisfied as long as I cried and screamed. But it was starting to become a habit to cost unthinkingly until my mother decided to give me limited pocket money instead.

After several years, I was studying in a middle school. I felt like possessing my own computer to play game at ever time I wanted. Because playing in the computer bar charged fairly expensive. As a result of the fact, I determine to save money. Like eating more greens instead of meat over lunch in the school, taking bus or even walking and running to the school. Four years later, I have saved 3,000 yuan. It’s a big number of money, however, I need to gain my parent’s support. Thus, I try my best to get high score in the quizzes and exams to amuse them. Ultimately I get enough money to buy a computer. In fact, I’m really instilling my in computer game as a result my scores slip down quickly. If I want to enter a college, I have to pass the college entrance examination.

So, before I became a college student, I seldom played completely and satisfyingly. I got my present, but I always got additional stress.

It's a fun story actually :P
I think it might partly be the problem of education. When parents want their kids to do best in school. they encourage them in a materialist way as they promised to give them pocket money for their high scores at school.... It distracts the main intention of education. Learning is just learning itself, has nothing to do with money.

Now you get what you want from your own hard work :)

The idea of playing often dominated our childhood, even up to now I don't know why.

I agree with u theoretically. But I really don't know how to educate kid. My son will only turn deaf ear to me if I am didactic. He doesn't unserstand the purpose of learning and fails to find any happiness from learning. I am so sad because it seems that only by materialist way can I sitimulate and push him.

well. that's not pleasant to hear when parents make effectiveless communication with their kids. Children may lie to parents, and that' because they don't trust them. That's when the communication worked in a wrong way.

The first step to deal with it is to acknowledge their emotion, that's to say, when they complain a little bit, we can answer:" you must be upset about it...etc" so that at least they'll think, oh I have a considerate mum who understands me!
Later on when they feel their negative feelings are allowed to have, they may be relaxed, and it's easier for parents to give right instructions :P

There are books to read as well, and I think you can search on dang dang or zhuo yue to find out the hot educational books!~ :)

Thank you for your advice. Nowadays children are living in a competitive society which exert pressure on them. They are not happy because they need to study hard in order to go to better school and better university. They are not intelligent enough to envision the furture and we, as parents, can do nothing to make them happy ,fundamentally. If we can not make them happy by easing their burden, we can only buy something to make them happy. They know that studying hard can help them to get toys now and will help them to earn bread in the furture...We understand each other but no other solution. But anyhow, thank you for your kind suggestion and I will read some books about education.

Take it easy, boy! Give up what you want to and do what you expect to, then you'll be happy every day.

I couldn't agree more. Studies serve for delight. Just try to spend some time everyday. It's a piece of cake.
