i must change ?

Last night i attended a huge dinner with my new colleuages ,among them two managers of our company, honstly to say i had have my supper and only went to have a taste of that atomasphere. The notice came into me without expection. i was enjoying movies on line when someone called me to go . Later i realised the boss's son (so-called manager ) acompanied a customer for dinner,if only two men together for dinner which was weired and monotonous.So
they asked us to have fun. i was relieved and understood i would be a subordinate role, being a good listener and kept smile .Recalling the whole process , the manager may be counting on me ,though i am a warehouse statistician in this company ,a new fresh. i don't catch the hidden meanings. The key point is that my manager directly judged that i was timid and shy ,always speak with lower voice. i responed that it was my coutry characters and i was accumersted to it ,but they saied i should change and speak loudly ....
i was admired at one of my colleuages that she acted naturally to talk with our lsuperior...she worked here two years, confidently ,conciously .compared to her , i am a little ,located in disavantage level. what's more ,they talked a great many professional issues, i performed a little just smiling ...Should i talk a lot and sent my concerns frequently ....but i don't like attracting others eyes on purpose, boosting ...

- If keeping silence and act as a listener makes you feel more comfortable and relaxed, do so. You can also be a good listener.
