How hard it is to give up drinking and smoking !

Recently I often went out to resturants . I found I often drank too much and smoked too much . All stuff makes me feel very uncomfortable . I really want to give up drinking and smoking . But when my friends ask me to drink , I have no good reason to refuse .So I am thinking a good way to give up them .
Could you give some good advice ?
