Coca-cola and God

868 views. 2010-4-25 09:12 |

On the way to my exam today, I heard this story from the radio. Because Pepsi’s new Pepsi-Cola is sweeter than before, it becomes more popular. Under the sales pressure, Coca-cola created a new coca that will replace their existing coca. And you guess, it is sweeter than ever. Once it is on the market, however, it is resisted by a lot people. One guy called in to complain and saying, “Coca-cola and the God are the two most important things in my life. If you changed the coca, you took one most important thing away from me.”

Part of the highway on my way was closed this weekend for yearly maintenance, but I still managed to get the test center on time. Unfortunately, because of the technical difficulty, they lost my registration for the exam in the morning. L It took them more than one hour and did not resolve the issue. Eventually, they ask me whether I can write the exam in the afternoon first. “OK, I can do that. “. I did the second exam first. It took me almost three hours. After I come back after lunch, they haven’t got me anywhere further for the first registration. I had to call the 800 help number from my cell phone. Luckily, I was able to get hold of one agent on my second try. I was in again for the second time, another three hours. Two down, and two more to go tomorrow. I had never done this kind of back to back exams before except in high school years. I don’t know why I have to do this, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

you were unable to do the first exam because of the technical problem of their computer or they just lost it?

interesting story and a pleasant read!
the overheated competition sometimes is a vicious circle and only the common consumers have to suffer and become its victims.  the man's words are quite interesting.  I guess in corporate America, coca cola and God are both integral parts of his life.  Consumerism has prevailed and dominated everyone's daily life, probably also their spiritual life.  they're like invisible monsters everywhere!   we're taken hostage and fall prey of it.  your story reminds me of the infamous saying, customers are God.
