I am loving the Backstreet Boys. Always having this great liking for this handsome boy band.

They have named themselves the Backstreet Boys cos they wanted to announce to the whole wide world that they are just ordinary boys next door, from the backstreet(小巷，不引人注目，普通家庭，中下阶层）, not uptown(有钱，上层阶级，有素养）（Daniel注，英文中的单词都带着文化，正如中国的龙，其实就是文化，中国的自傲图腾那样）yet with a big dream of becoming shining stars with the talents of their music and their persistence.

Do you remember the Ninjie Turtles we watched as kids?

记得我们小时候看的连播卡通《忍者神龟》吗？

So well I remember that during some episodes a boy wearing a turtle shell claiming himself to be the fifth member of the team cos he admired the braveness and amazing talents of the turtles, he wanted to be one of them.

This is only normal for little boys' world of their own.

小男孩的（脑海）世界就是这样的奇妙。

 

And now, why do I say I am also a backstreet boy?

Perchance what I told about the boy desiring to join the Turtle team explains some of the subconsciousness within me. But there is another part,which deals with the sad part.

What does backstreet mean in China, and what does it mean in America? And combining them, what does it mean finally?

穷巷，sth like the backstreet, here the Chinese phrase does not mean the dead end, not even the end of the lane. Backstreet is what it means.

掘门，非朱门so you can see only poverty-stricken

Many say Su Qin is someone who cares so much about profits, benefits that he can turn his back on whosoever as long as he feels he can obtain profits or benefits in question from somewhere else.

But you see, 诸葛亮爱苏秦，“众谓苏秦乃功利之士，殊不知，苏秦实为勇者。”

Yeah, Su Qin is one of a kind, one of so many in the endless stream along the ever-lasting Chinese history who have made it to raise himself up from down under, from the slights and contempts of this unfair society.

Learn from him.Life could be just another beam of light as you brave it against all odds just like Su Qin did, just like how 诸葛亮爱苏秦一样。

Cos I am from Backstreet, like the Backstreet Boys did, like Su Qin did, but I got Great Expectations.
