It’s kind of a funny story

I’m kind of a movie-lover, though I rarely watch those Hollywood blockbusters or so-called big-budget movies. I prefer smaller ones that tell the stories of ordinary people. Actually, I find that many of these small movies can really touch our hearts with depth. It’s kind of a funny story is just such kind of little movie----truly delightful, heart-warming and impressive.

Without complex plot and magnificent scenes, the film just tells us an experience of a teenage boy, probably not a “normal” boy. Craig, a high- school junior, once felt depressed. When he realized his suicidal, he checks himself into the psychiatric ward of a hospital. Throughout his stay, Craig came to a close bond with various patients. He tried hard to fit in the new environment. At last, he did it. He made some friends and even won the heart of a lovely girl. After 7 days staying in the hospital, Craig finally emerged from the shadows and started to live a better life. It is this unusual experiment that has changed his life.

Indeed, this film is about teenage problems. But in a broad sense, it talks about an important and universal topic: self-discovery. And that means to get second chances and in particular giving yourself a second chance. We all get very overwhelmed and stressed out because of our very busy and hectic lives, however, sometimes you just need to step back and give yourself a break from all of the drama in the world and focus on what is really important to your life. After a little thought all of the things that stress us out on a daily basis become very petty and unimportant and the things with true meaning and value in our lives shines through.

All in all, this is one of the most rewarding movies I’ve seen in a long time. Great acting, great script, almost a all around movie. It's a movie you don't want to end, but when it does, you kinda want to give it a big hug.
