Adieu to the Cambridge Once More
Gently am I leaving, as did I come;
And gently I wave adieu to the clouds in the west.
The golden willows beside the river,
look like a bride in the setting sun.
Her pretty reflection in the undulate water,
ripples in my heart.
The dark green waterweeds in the soft oil, flutter
and dance at the water bottom.
In the tender waves of Cambridge,
I'm willing to be a watersweed.
The pool shadowed by the elms, is not a Gmpid
spring but a rainbow.
Fallen into pieces amidst the floating algae,
with a dream of rainbow deeply set.
Seeking the dream? With a long pok in hand,
Upstream my boat roam to where the weeds
are at their best.
Bathing in the boatful of starlight,
my heart fills with songs.
Yet, I can't sing, for the quietness is the tune of my departure.
Silent summer insects for me too,
Silent is Cambridge tonight.
Silently am I leaving, as did I come.
I wave my sleeves, taking away not a shred of cloud.
