I Passed the 4 Out of 9 Test With flying colors!

409 views. 2010-11-30 20:31 |

The other day the 4 out of 9 driving test took place at Jiufang driving practice ground. There were only 11 days for us to learn and practice all the events. So you can imagine how we went through that period of time. We practiced like crazy! And most of us are full time employees.

On the day of the test, the huge waiting room was crowded with trainees and their trainers. They were sitting and chatting casually. However, they just couldn’t conceal the anxiety they felt inside before the test, which was supposed to be the most difficult part of the whole process.

Which 4 events you’ll do in the test are decided randomly by computer. Luckily, besides the 2 required events---- parking and leaving at the appointed place on a slope or a bridge and parking in a side space, I was told to do turning a 90 degree bend and driving along a S-shape, which are relatively easier. Despite that, I was still very nervous because we can never be 100% sure that we can pass, even if we practiced hard and have learned to do all the moves. When I was trying to park the car at a pointed place on the bridge, I hit the brake a little too earlier. Again the lucky star was shining over my head. It was within the given range and no points were taken away.

I feel I have become a little bit over cautious, which possibly is the result of getting old. I don’t seem as resolute and daring as before. Another reason is that I got scolded (almost everyone got his share) and seldom praised by the trainer. Consequently, my confidence was negatively affected. Actually I did better when practicing than in the test. However, I should be content with the result. What is the use of a perfect performance? Being able to pass is the only important goal we have been trying to achieve, isn't it?!
