4月27日，河北馆陶县第一中学，未满30岁的高三年级班主任赵鹏服毒自杀。他留下遗书称，活着太累，每天无休止的上班让人窒息，工资只能月光，决定自杀离世。据悉，赵鹏3月份的工资为1950元，包括1450元基本工资和500元补助，而4月份没有补助，只有基本工资。（5月28日《新京报》）
On April 27th, Zhao Peng, a teacher under 30 in charge of a class in Senior Three of Guantao County No.1 Middle School in Hebei, committed suicide by taking poison. - I feel very sorry for the loss of a young life. He has my sympathy but i don't approve of the way he treated the matter. anyhow life is precious and we can't act so rashly.
usually we just see the bright sides of being a teacher. actually it is a demanding job. the problem is not only the meagre income but the rigid system as well. it is naive to believe that teachers only give two classes a day, get a fat paycheck and earn a lot of extra money after work. students today are no longer the ones in the 1990s or earlier. you are expected to give good results by both school administrators and parents, and at the same time you are supposed to be one liked by every student. do you think you can teach as you wish to? we're living in a utilitarian society!
teaching should be a noble career and it can be a wonderful job, but things are not so simple as one thinks. it is an open secret that many teachers have mental problems due to the pressure they're constantly under. on the other hand, as a teacher, we have to learn to fit in, to strike a balance. yes we have to do the job well. but you should feel calm as long as you've done your best. one thing we have to admit: no matter how hard you try, whatever you do, there's always someone who is not satisfied with you. you just cannot satisfy everyone.

- i have been a teacher for 10 years . but i don't agree with killing yourself. china education is shit. in the system , teacher just like a slaver. ZF give teacher a glory fame, but let them work as a slaver. so the people should be awake, don't listen to the cctv and ZF's dreaming words . just be reality.
