How vivid and thought-provoking the above picture is in describing one serious social problem concerning old people in China.As is shown in the enlightening picture,three sons and a daughter are standing in front of four football goals,kicking their gerontic and pathetic father to each other as a football fiercely.It clearly reveals that,after they are independent in economy and family,some young people will care about their fathers and mothers no longer and consider them as a burden.
It's widely well-known that taking good care of one's own parents is one of the main virtues in Chinese traditional culture.Everyone,especially,young fellows should cherish this virtue well.However,to our great disappointment,with the improvement of people's living criterion,it seems that they have forgotten it,which is a heart-struck and sorrowful thing for a descendant.We may hear about a suspicious and appalling news that some old men die of disease and starvation in the street in cold winter resulting from their children's escaping from their responsibility of lookinging after them.Can't we take some measures to reverse this trend?
There is no denying that the answer is definitely yes.Fortunately,the amazing social problem has been taken into consideration by our government.Some powerful and compulsory policy has been put forward.As a result,we have made appreciable and conspicuous achievements in the past years.But this is far away from adequacy.Only when all of us respect and take good care of all old men can the problem be tackled completely,and can our society be a harmonious and compatible one.
