Honest

Honesty—has been mentioned for thousand years till now. When I was a little girl, my mother told me to be an honest kid. When I got into high school, my teacher told me to be an honest student. What is honesty? Speaking truth or telling the truth is honesty or being honest. Being fair is being honest. But now we can easily find lots of fake medicines, fake edible oils, fake mobile phones and even some food resources are counterfeit. Goodness! What do they want to do? These are foods, we need it everyday. What is the matter with their consciences? Will they feel guilty when they found out that many people are sick or dead because of the fake food? Will they be happy if their parents, friends and children eat things like these? These people are hindering the development of our society. They are a group of people who are living under contempt.

Fraud, bribery, tax evasion, and bilk these behaviors are counterattacking honesty. Cheating may be a really easy way to get good grades and many people have experienced to cheat. But have you recognized that you are deceiving your teacher, your parents, your classmates and also yourself when you are cheating. Bribery involves offering or accepting something of value in a situation where the person who accepts the bribe is expected to perform a service which goes beyond his or her normal job description—— from WiseGreek. You are pushing yourself to corruption when you receive even one dollar from others. In America, even the president can’t keep the gifts which the values have exceeded five dollars. But in China, many officials have received others’ money or gifts. Tax evasion usually entails taxpayers deliberately misrepresenting or concealing the true state of their affairs to the tax authorities to reduce their tax liability, and includes, in particular, dishonest tax reporting (such as declaring less income, profits or gains than actually earned; or overstating deductions). —— from Wikipedia. You are putting on the prisoner’s uniform if you evaded tax. You are losing your reputation. You’re bringing much pain to your family. Your parents will feel ashamed because they couldn’t believe that this swindler is their son, after spending much painstaking effort. If you have a child, what would your child feel? Will they have a happy childhood? Will they have courage to face others’ humiliationNo.

Chinese most famous thinker Confucius once said that if a men who don't have honesty, no one will believe him, and then he could do nothing and could not live in the society. So honesty is the basic to life.

During Tang Dynasty a famous minister said that you have to treat your family honestly or your family will fall apart. So being honest is a way to regulate your family.

If there are full of pretense and chicanery between you and others, you won’t have real friends. So honesty is the basic foundation of friendship.

In the Chinese famous book “Zuo”, we know that being honest is also necessary for governments. If your citizens don’t believe in you, your domination won’t be able to last for long.

In the modern world, when businessmen’s are contracting they all expect that counterparts could obey the contract. Honesty is the most useful means in the commercial competition. And it is also the best name card for every entrepreneur.

According to this you can summarize that honesty is the best policy and it defines true success.

It's a brilliant treatise indeed. First, it determines a definition of honesty. Then numerous facts of dishonesty are enumerated with the harm it does society. Afterwards, it points out the importance of honesty to cultivating moral character, regulating families, establishing friendship, government and business. Finally, honesty is advocated with a passion.
In the past, honesty was a commendatory term. Now on the contrary, it has become a derogatory term. An honest person is taken for a fool or good-for-nothing. So an honest fellow can hardly find himself a spouse or make friends, let alone come to power or do business. It's easy to say but hard to do. So is your claim. With the deterioration of social morality, honest people are getting fewer and fewer. Whether you believe it or not, this is a sad fact anyway.
