Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are gonna get. But we do know that life is a coin with two sides: one is good and the other bad. We enjoy the birth of a child but also have to face the death of a beloved person. We celebrate the achievements that have been made, but also have to taste the bitterness of loss. We spend the wonderful time together with our friends but have to say farewell to them at last. The dualism of life exists everywhere in anytime, adding flavors to the dishes of our life.
Happiness and bitterness---------misfortune might be a blessing in disguise
With a cunning smile on his face, life always plays trick on us and derives enjoyment from our startling expressions. We can never tell what will happen in the next minute. We may find on today’s newspaper that the train we missed yesterday had an accident; the person who always criticizes us taught us the most truth; our rivals became the motive force of our progress. It seems that anything bad could turn better somehow under unique conditions, in which bitterness disappears and the sun of happiness shines brightly.
Gains and losses--------possession is one with loss
Everything we achieved is at the cost of other things. We pay money to buy things; we taste the sweet fruit of success after longtime hardworking; and we enjoy the prosperity in the city while losing the change to get close to nature. Further more, many choices we made are based on the abandonment of other chances. We can only choose one road at the intersection-------this road could be a material one, the way to our home, or an abstract one, the way to our future.
Togetherness and separation-------All good things must come to an end
We derive much happiness by staying with our friends, chatting, playing, joking. And we cherish the time of freedom and comfort at home with our parents. Togetherness endows us with a feeling of safety and protection, a sense of impregnable. However, we have to grow up and leave our child home. We have to say goodbye to our dear friends and head for further places. It is destined that all good things must come to an end and what we should do is to accept this reality resignedly.
The dualism of life teaches us to see the world with multiple sights. Not all things are absolute. They could turned better or worse under different conditions. In addition, we gained anything at the loss of something else, either material or non-material. Furthermore, we have to face separation during our life since everything has its end. When it comes to the time, we should learn how to deal with it, and continue our life.
