My niece working in the top company

My niece has been working in the top company（世界五百强） in Shanghai for nearly two years. A month ago, I invited her to our house for dinner. She said that it is lucky for her to work in the top company due to her working experience in Japan. But she finds that her job is so boring that she has no enthusiasm for her work. She just knows some colleagues in her department, and they rarely talk with each other at work. What’s worse, she can’t understand Shanghai dialect, so it is difficult for her to communicate with her colleagues from Shanghai.
At weekends she just does housework and goes shopping nearby where she lives. She has a boyfriend, who comes from the same city as her. Sometimes they have meals or see films together if they are free. Shanghai house prices are so high that they don’t talk about any topic about marriage.
My niece said: ”My friends and relatives all envy that I have such a good opportunity to work in the foreign company in big city, for me, it is only a job with a handsome salary.”

- Lot of people want to join the top company. Maybe it is hard to find a satisfactory job. - There is little advantage working in a a large corporation when there is limited opportunity to learn and gain useful experience, particularly when your niece is of young age. It could be hard for her to survive later because she never experienced tough times and challenges. Furthermore, large companies often carry out massive layoffs of staff when the economy dowturns. On the other hand, sometimes we have to surrender to reality... good salary and secure metality are overriding factors. The choice is hers.
