How could it be him?

735 views. 2012-11-22 15:38 |

I remembered clearly one thing that happened in my high school days. That day, we were having an English class. In order to increase our understanding about some English words, the teacher required us to use some phrases to explain some words. Be honestly, I like the kind of teaching method, because English is my favorite subject, and I nearly answered all the questions from the teacher. In that class, the teacher asked: “Who can tell me which phrase can explain 加油?” Immediately, I put up my hand and told my answer loudly, but the teacher said my answer was wrong. Then another two students failed to give the right answers as well, which disappointed the English teacher in some ways.

At this time, a boy, who was bad at learning English, put up his hand and said in a low voice: “I would like to try.” ”Ok!” The English teacher wore smile and encouraged him to speak out his idea. The boy stood up and answered: “Step on the gas.” The teacher added: “Yes! It is just the phrase.”

How could it be him? In fact, we underestimated him.

When I reading that question, "cheer up" first comes in to my mind, "Step on the gas"??? it's such a sudden answer, didn't it means for cars? I am just a sparetime English learner and your every blog seems clear and nice.

Take me for example. I am learning to speak Chinese, but friends laugh to to floor when I made a mistake. Nice friends hah? I agree it is funny and I can't blame them. Well, who knows, someday I may speak better than them. You are what you think you are. Never underestimate anyone.

The more mistake you make in learning a language, the more progress you will make, because practice makes perfect.
