A surprising e-mail!

657 views. 2009-8-25 12:06 |

This morning,I turn on my computer and prepare to browse some portal websites to learn what happened today.A prompt column spring at the lower right corner of the screen which say:You have a new email.I click open my mailbox and find a letter from China Daily. I am very glad to know from it that one of my articles was released on Page 4 of Agust 22-23 issue.I fumble through my head and want to know which article was released but I failed because I had emailed lot of articles to China Daily. Usually, these articles did not grasp the attentions of those editors and I never receive answers and I had accustomed to this. But I insisted to email them once I finished an article.and this time, they answered back.

This email reminds me of the well-known story about three earth stools of Einstein. This story happed when Einstein was a child of preliminary school. On a class, his teacher let them to make something of mud. Einstein was the last one to turn in his work. It was a earth stool. His teacher accused him of his ugly work and all his classmates laughed at him. Einstein did not blush and took out other two stools he made on class and they were uglier than the one he turned in. I can’t imagine the countenance of his teacher when she heard of Einstein’s Relative Theory.

To some extent, my experience of contributing articles is  similar with making stools of Einstein. The different is I contributed a lot but Einstein only finished three earth stools.

If I did not receive this email from China Daily, I would still insist on English Writing which would enrich my life. Sometimes the process of writing is pain because you would find have nothing to be worthy of expression. Sometimes life is just a cup of water, limpid and tastless. It can't provide more materials for you to utilize. When inspiration appears, you don’t know how to expound it, especially in English. When annoyed by these obstacles, remember, just insist on. If you only have one word, then write it down. Gradually, you can write more words. At last, you would find write something is just a piece of cake. Why should we insist on English Writing? Maybe others would accuse us of our wrongly enchanting western culture. This critic is somewhat baseless. If we can express ourselves in English well, we can express ourselves well in Chinese too. We are just using foreign language to express things happened in China. and learning foreign language can help us improving our Chinese in return. This phenomenon should be called killing two birds with one stone.

There are more than 10000 bloggers on Dioenglish.and through communicating with them, I think they are all pillars of future china.because they all had struggle through the pain stage in English writing and begun to enjoy the happiness brought by exotic culture.I advice you put down these two Email box address and contribute your articles to them, no matter how coarse they are.Opinion@chinadaily.com.cn or letters@chinadaily.com.cn
