Recently, the topic mostly discussed in my office is about The Mayan Prophecy of the doomsday on Dec. 21st.
Though "doomsday" sounds horrific, people discuss it in a humorous vein. We talk about those who crowded into shops to buy candles and those who donated all his money to the Red Cross... As if the candles or the Red Cross could save our lives if the End really came!
Since we begin the talk about the End of the world, one thing must be mentioned. It's Noah's Ark.
Noah's Ark is the vessel by which Noah saves himself, his family, and a remnant of all the world's animals when God decides to destroy the world by flood because of mankind's evil deeds.
One day, when I was listening to the radio, I heard a really interesting question as below:
"If you have right to go to the Ark for safty, and you can also bring one thing with you, only one thing, no more, what would you bring?"
I archly asked my husband this question, in hope that he would bring me with him. He seemed to read my thoughts, and replied," But you are not a 'thing', right? You are a person."
In the radio, someone said they would take some money, but I don't think money can be useful in that situation. Someone wanted to bring computer. I doubt if there is net connections in the boat...
You may find that things we worship and chase behind in daily life, like a dog lolling its tougue out in front of a piece of meat, don't seem so valuable or necessary any more when we face a situation where our lives are in danger. And as a female, maybe I would just bring enough Sophie sanitary napkins.
Haha, just for fun! What about you? :-)
