How do you feel when you first get the money earned by yourself?

I felt great.  I was 14 years old, below the legal age to work.  My parent's employer used my mother's wages to pay me.  I earned 60 cents an hour ($0.60 US).  I thought, "Wow, I'm earning a penny a minute!"  The year was 1964!  A few years ago I was earning $35 an hour!  What a change!  If I got overtime pay, I got more than $50 an hour!

Yes, that is a lot of money.  I'm currently earning near the minimum wage in the at around $7-8 per hour.  I do some independent work that pays more than that too.  And I'm writing books I hope to sell in a few years!
