How can we really read a literary works and read deeply not only words?

I think the only way to read deeply of literary works is to read them many times.

First and foremost,you must be interested in the literary works. Then you can utilize some tools or related materials to help you to comprehend the literary output. Last but not least,you should try to fathom and relish every detail of the work. I suppose in this way you can genuinely read literature.

Thank you . But the question is I don't know how to  relish the works ,and since the new words are too much,I have a hesitation of whether to read the whole first or to look up dictionary while read.
