People have their own methods to learn language. One of my Japanese coworkers learnt English from zero by listening to English songs and following their lyrics. He could speak pretty well now though his writing is not that perfect.

yes, we can learn sth. from the movie, but the grammar should be learned from books. the sentences in the movie are just oral english, not fit for the exam. of course, it is useful to improve listening.

I don't think it is wasting time. When I was in college, my foreign teachers always show us good movies. There are a lot of oral language, it is also useful for us. It can help us on our oral and listening. I like movies very much.

No,i always watching ,i think it's a good way we should do to improve our listenning and grammer.just do not pay much attention on others',we need our own study ways to learn.choice the best way for u ,not follow other men's path.
some of my friends are not english major, but they love to watching foreign movies, basic orall english and grammer are charged by them.it's fine.
So do not take it bother u!
