Stone Gambling （赌石）
Have u ever heard "Stone Gambling"? I have never heard it before going to Yunnan province.It is said Store gambling started from Qing dynasty. Gamblers can be a millionare overnight or bankrupt for a moment when he gambled a stone with most his forture, coz no one can know whether it is a high-quality jade or just a piece of worthless normal stone before "stone"opens or incises with a firm stone-cut machine. Even till now, there's no other advanced technology can identify what it is in stone on earth without cutting. So the gamble full of big risky, millinare or bankrupt overnight.
However, it is also full of temperations somehow for Chinese people, most merchants think it worth a trail, even some stones charges more than 10,000,000 RMB and most of stones costs more than 1 million Yuan. What are they crazy for?
The moment of first cut wind up all people's nerves, coz stones can be judges out whether it is a normal stone or invaluable jade by the first cut. Normallly, those merchants afraid to take first look at his stone by themselves, they would kneel and pray to Buddha(佛祖)or Bodhisattva(菩萨) for a good result.
Life and stones are full of unexpectation, some merchants became a millionare, some were broke up overnight, but the story of gambling stone is still on in Yunnan.

- i heard it before and some experienced people can judge the value of the stone just by looking at the surface of the stone. that's amazing.
