The Most Caring Child

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four-year-old child whose next-door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry， the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard， climbed onto his lap and just sat there. When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor， the little boy said，“Nothing， I just helped hin cry.”
作家兼演讲家李奥・巴斯凯吉理有一次谈起他曾应邀当评委的一次竞赛。竞赛的目的是要选出最富有同情心的孩子。获胜者是一个4岁的孩子。这孩子的隔壁邻居是位老人，老伴刚刚去世。一看到他哭，这个小孩就走进老人的院子，爬到他的膝上，就坐在那儿。当母亲问儿子对邻居说了些什么时，这小男孩说：“什么也没有说，我只是陪着他哭。”
