Hoya，Hoya！
Some years back， a Senator from the Interior Commit teevisited an Indian reservation in Arizona， where he made a finespeech full of promises of better things．"We shall see，”he said，“a new era of Indian opportunity．" To this， the Indians gave a ringing cry of "Hoya，hoya！" Encouraged，the Senator continued，"We promise better schools and technical training．" "Hoya， hoya！" the exclaimed audience with much enthusi asm．"We pledge better hospitals and medical assistance，"said the Senator．"Hoya， hoya!" ① cried the Indians．
With a tear running down his cheek， the Senator added，"We come to you as equak， as brothers．So trust us！" The air shook with one long，mighty "Hoya，hoya！"
Greatly pleased by his reception， the Senator then began atour of the reservation．"I see you have fine breeds of beef cat tle here，" he said．"May I inspect them？"
"Certainly． Come this way，" said the chief．
"But be careful not to step on the hoya．"
嗬呀，嗬呀！

“当然。请这边走。”酋长说。“但是小心，别踩在牛粪上。”
