butch o'hare, who was awarded the medal of honour by us president roosevelt in 1942 for intrepidity in aerial combat against the japanese, had a father who would risk his life for him.
his father, a lawyer named eddie o'hare, got involved with al capone, head of a chicago crime syndicate, in the 1920s, and because of this made tons of money. but, to ensure that his son got into the naval academy and to set him a good example, eddie turned against capone. he provided incriminating evidence against capone, as a result of which prosecutors were able to have capone convicted for tax evasion and sent to prison in 1931.
