During his battles Napoleon paid little attention to casualties. After the battle of Eylau in 1807, a Pyrrhic victory for the French, he walked across the battlefield, turning over with his foot the corpses of French soldiers, saying, "Small change, small change. One Parisian night will soon replace these losses."
拿破 仑 作 战 ， 对 士 兵 伤 亡 漠 不 关 心 。 一 八 ○ 七 年 艾 洛 之 役 ， 法 军 惨 胜 。 战 后 拿 破 仑 在战 场 上 走 了 一 遍 ， 用 脚 把 法 国 士 兵 的 尸 体 翻 过 来 ， 说 ： 「 不 要 紧 ， 不 要 紧 。 巴 黎 一夜 ， 很 快 就 可 以 弥 补 这 些 损 失 。 」【 附 注 】 艾 洛 位 在 东 普 鲁 士 ， 法 、 俄 两 军战 斗 两 天 ， 死 伤 各 以 万 计 ， 最 后 俄 军 退 却 ， 但 并 未 溃 败 ； 拿 破 仑 所 得 ， 无 非 一 个 尸骸 枕 藉 的 战 场 。 这 是 一 场 惨 胜 。
